After reporting the update notifier bug, without closing update-manager, I clicked on check, got one update to do. I clicked on install updates it took about 3 minutes but after coming back from the gray state the update was not installed and the update-manager still showed me the same previous update to install. I'm attaching a screen-shot of update-manager and the update it does not install. I'm sure that if I run apt-get update and apt-get upgrade this update will be installed as I am doing latey after having encounterd this bug.
