I installed Oneric on a separate hard drive in this machine and have
tested it a few times, so far without any issue.

So far, S-Video is always detected (although that's even when it's not
plugged in) and 3D always works.

I'm not going to say that this problem has definitely been fixed in
Oneric, but it looks like it might be.  If anything changes I will write
it here.
