Still running from LiveCD:

root@ubuntu:~# /usr/share/checkbox/scripts/optical_detect
Optiarc DVD RW AD-7543A
root@ubuntu:~# /usr/share/checkbox/scripts/optical_read_test
root@ubuntu:~# echo $?
0
root@ubuntu:~# /usr/share/checkbox/scripts/optical_read_test /dev/sr0
Testing read on /dev/sr0 ... Failed
root@ubuntu:~# echo $?
1
root@ubuntu:~# time /usr/share/checkbox/scripts/optical_read_test /dev/sr0
Testing read on /dev/sr0 ... Failed

real 8m54.211s
user 0m0.188s
sys 0m3.792s
root@ubuntu:~# echo $?
1

I run the top command during the test and I saw that the CPU is usually
50...80% in iowait (%wa field). "dmesg" doesn't contain any read error
or similar message.

What I also recognised is that the booting is also takes several minutes
from the LiveCD.
