Still running from LiveCD: root@ubuntu:~# /usr/share/checkbox/scripts/optical_detect Optiarc DVD RW AD-7543A root@ubuntu:~# /usr/share/checkbox/scripts/optical_read_test root@ubuntu:~# echo $? 0 root@ubuntu:~# /usr/share/checkbox/scripts/optical_read_test /dev/sr0 Testing read on /dev/sr0 ... Failed root@ubuntu:~# echo $? 1 root@ubuntu:~# time /usr/share/checkbox/scripts/optical_read_test /dev/sr0 Testing read on /dev/sr0 ... Failed real 8m54.211s user 0m0.188s sys 0m3.792s root@ubuntu:~# echo $? 1 I run the top command during the test and I saw that the CPU is usually 50...80% in iowait (%wa field). "dmesg" doesn't contain any read error or similar message. What I also recognised is that the booting is also takes several minutes from the LiveCD. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/910504 Title: Optical disk read crashes running from LiveCD To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/checkbox/+bug/910504/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
