Public bug reported:

When trying to transfer a directory to a galaxy nexus using MTP, I continually
receive the following error message:
Error creating directory: File exists

No such file shows up in the file browser though. The same problem
presents itself when trying to create dirs manually (using mkdir).
Trying to create files (using touch) seems to work only partially, first
there is an error message;

touch: setting times of `test': Function not implemented
(probably logical due to the nature of MTP)

But then when performing ls on the directory, it takes ages (>10s) and
the file that was just created does not show up.
