my graphic card is also integrated, so it's not a ATI or Radeon issue. Issue happens on both a Thinkpad T410 with Radeon discrete graphics and on a Thinkpad X61T with intel integrated graphics.
In both cases I encounter the freezing/crash or gnome-shell becomes so slow and unresponsive that only a restart of gnome-shell fixes the problem. I have tried everything. The very best scenario of just using terminal and chrome and no other apps, I can avoid the crashes but like I said, the gnome-shell starts slowing down and become slow to respond which forces me to force a restart of the shell so I can get some work done. I have decided to downgrade to either Mint 11 or one of the other Mint flavours. For fun I tried giving a spin for Mint 11 LXDE and Mint 11 LMDE Xfce on two spare machines. Mint 12 is definitely the finniest looking flavour/version, but the instability prevents Mint 12 from being a real contender. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/889706 Title: Gnome-shell randomly crashes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/889706/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
