If you compare http://packages.ubuntu.com/oneiric/all/screen-resolution-
extra/filelist and http://packages.ubuntu.com/precise/all/screen-
resolution-extra/filelist, you can see that the toolchain change rebuild
has removed some files. Some of those files are needed for nvidia-
settings to save xorg.conf
