Public bug reported:

I am running gdm and my session is openbox-gnome (not Unity) on Ubuntu 11.10
I installed GnomishDark theme from
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/GnomishDark?content=147290
because I strongly prefer dark background.
I used gnome-tweak-tool to set my window and GTK theme to GnomishDark
Now Ubuntu Software Center appears with light text and a light foreground.

See the attached screenshot.

It appears to take the text foreground color from the GTK theme, but
ignored the theme background color.
