Hi Ike, Installed your kernel, but still was not able to get wifi functionality. Blacklisting acer_wmi did not return functionality as well. rfkill list did show the soft-block before installing the kernel, but afterwards it was always blank.
1.08 is the current BIOS for this system, and looks like there is an update to 1.09.
