Public bug reported: I tried to use Ubuntu 12.04 (daily build from today, Jan 11) from a pen drive, but even though I can see the Ubuntu splash, as soon as Unity should be shown the screen gets video garbage and I cannot use the desktop. After switching to TTY1, I stopped lightdm and install nvidia-current. The installation went well, but now instead of corrupted graphics I get a blank screen and the computer completely freezes. I am happy to provide additional information to help solving this bug.
