Thank you for using Ubuntu and reporting a bug. From the dpkg terminal log, there are a lot of errors such as: dpkg: warning: files list file for package `xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse' missing, assuming package has no files currently installed.
This seems to be causing other problems like this: Setting up foomatic-filters (4.0.4-0ubuntu1.1) ... dpkg: error processing foomatic-filters (--configure): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 10 Setting up rsyslog (4.2.0-2ubuntu8.1) ... dpkg: error processing rsyslog (--configure): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 10 Setting up grub-pc (1.98-1ubuntu12) ... As such, the errors are not rsyslog specific. This seems like a problem with the system in general. You could try to reboot and force an fsck by doing 'sudo touch /forcefsck' then rebooting, but this may not solve the issue. If you are still having problems after the fsck and you don't know how to proceed, I suggest bringing this up on askubuntu.com. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/912362 Title: package rsyslog 4.2.0-2ubuntu8.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rsyslog/+bug/912362/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
