Hello Sudev,
It would be good to find out why g-p-m thinks it needs to shut down your
machine.
Could you run the following commands?
$ killall gnome-power-manager
$ gnome-power-manager --no-daemon --verbose 2>&1 | tee /tmp/gpm.log
After you do that, could you unplug your power cord and wait until the machine
wants to shut down?
Then, please attach /tmp/gpm.log to this bug report. Thanks!
