Even though the kernel doesn't crash anymore I do have the same issues as #22 when the connection with the Windows server on which resides the CIFS mount has any hiccups. My system doesn't lock up but issuing a ls command on the CLI or opening my home directory with my file manager doesn't work. Only thing that works is trying to unmount -f -l the CIFS mount which takes ages. I can't really test with a 3.2rc kernel because I have these issues on my office machine where I need virtualization and the 3.2 kernel packages don't work with VMWare.
