I did recognize the same behaviour. After some research it seems that this is not a bug but a feature. There is an option in BIOS to change the behaviour of the fn-keys. Go to BIOS > System Configuration > Action Keys Mode: - If the option is enabled, you can change brightness, loudness etc. without pressing the fn-key but only pressing F2, F3... I suppose, that you need to press Fn-Key + F1... in order to get the F1-key. - If the option is disabled, the behaviour is vice versa.
