This happens, U10.04 LTS as of today, I dont see purple death screen, just flashing CAPS LED.
** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: As soon as I plug in a USB Logitech headset into a Thinkpad W510 laptop USB2.0 port I get a purple Ubuntu Loading screen and the CAPS button icon flashing once per second. The system is completely unresponsive and I have to do a hard-reset.
