Hi Marius, The output shown looks like the ubuntu-text splash screen. Since your kernel command line doesn't show the 'splash' option, this should only happen if you pressed Esc during boot. Did you? (Otherwise, the 'details' theme should have been used, which just displays the console text.)
Do you have an 8-bit clean serial console here? I would generally expect this text to display correctly on a serial console just as on the standard console, unless configuring/using a wrong terminal emulator or using a serial console that filters the output. ** Changed in: plymouth (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/915735 Title: plymouth: broken output on serial console (screen full of [-1;-1fUbuntu 10.04) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plymouth/+bug/915735/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
