Thanks for your report. Kicker is not related with problem that you describe.
Those situations are usually due to application crash or problem with KDE
component, like kdeinit. In these case, I recommend you to submit a report
assigned to the application package. Remind to include version of program,
version of Kubuntu and steps to reproduce the problem. Please read

backtrace that should be useful in your report.
