Just tested again with the latest daily-live iso from cdimage.ubuntu.com
and the issue is still occurring. Immediately after selecting "Try
Ubuntu without installing" from the CD boot menu the graphics cuts out
and the monitor can't detect any input signal on the VGA cable.
