I have the same bug.
I work only on external monitor. Internal deactivated.
External 1920x1080
Internal 1280x800

When I plug out external monitor then my laptop screen gets corrupted - it 
seems resolution remains as on external, so I can do nothing.
When I plug in external monitor, then laptop screen gets corrupted, as well. 
But this time display usually covered by stripes.
