obviously none is installing edgy these days (and perhaps they are right :-D
anyway i solved this first problem:
line 51 of /usr/lib/ubiquity/ubiquity/components/language.py reads languagelist
= open('/usr/share/localechooser/languagelist')
instead of /usr/share it should read /usr/lib, though i got it working only
writing /casper/filesystem.squashfs/usr/lib
now the installer doesn't crash anymore (at least for now :-D
