** Description changed: I have a laptop ASUS N53Jq, it mounts Realtek ALC269VB as sound card. Every time I install ubuntu I need to add: "options snd-hda-intel model=auto" in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf to get it to work. It is not so annoying, 'cause it is necessary only once per installation, but if it were not necessary it would be great!
