I think that the problem is that the submitter is using some .deb not
from the project.  It's impossible to avoid this kind of problems, since
it's not possible to forbid .deb packages in the wild to contain files
named the same.

Newest Ubuntu gets the latest package 1.2.11 from Debian anyway, so this
bug is not going to be fixed in any other way.

So I think that it's safe to close this bug report.
