+ [Original Report]
+ I was running several programs on unity desktop 5 on Ubuntu 12.04 (updated to
15.1.2012), also package installations.
There happends a automatically session logout , which I have not
introduced, out of nothing.
I came back to the Ubuntu startslash for logging in automatically. A
login in a unity session brings a new session on.
The gnome-system-monitor is still showing the programs running from the
privious session, but I could not access them from my new logging in. So
the old session seems to be running anywhere and anyhow.
-
That's a very bad behaviour. I have not saved my work and no chance to enter
the running processes for that anymore, so dataloose is the consequence.
- As special add: Package installation has not finished it's work, or better: I
be not sure that it has done all installations with success.
+ As special add: Package installation has not finished it's work, or better: I
be not sure that it has done all installations with success.
Because I have had not made any updates/upgrades with this run I am
optimistic that a newstart of the system does not break boot abilities,
but think of this during an update/upgrade. -> The system may become
broken.
I see this as critical bug.
Because of not knowing what happens exactly I have filed this against
unity v5 with apport call, so you have all logs which gathered by
apport.
When you have the need for further logs or doings, tell me.
