Hi Sam, and thanks for your report.
I'm closing this bug because it's not a bug. The liferea executable is a
script to set up the environment and launch liferea-bin (which is the
right file).
To run liferea under gdb, you have to use liferea-bin, but setting first the
proper environment variables:
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/firefox gdb liferea-bin
