Public bug reported:
While using Gnumeric, I experienced the following: If you add a data
filter to a column (Data -> Filter), and then click on the little arrow
in the top cell to display all the values you can filter for, all other
areas of the screen become unresponsive to any mouse clicks, the
computer becomes unresponsive to keyboard shortcuts and even the On/Off
button causes no response! All you can do is to click somewhere in the
list to apply the filter or press Esc on the keyboard to leave the mask.
I believe that this is a major flaw in the operating system, as any
program causing such a state and then crashing can cause complete loss
of control over the OS, as described e.g. for LibreOffice at
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40141.
In my opinion, no program shouls be able to block control about other
visible windows, the keyboard and especially not the On/Off button.
This could be a bug in the design, so I don't know what package it refers to.
Sorry.
