I fixed this by removing userful-multiplier
my new prob is my software center has an 'updating changes' stuck at half way
my system won't let me report as it says my ubuntu is not genuine
what is this, windows... lol
I had installed 10.04 at first
then went through the updates to 10.11, 11.04 & now 11.10
