I have the same problem with the notebook Acer TravelMate 5735Z. Using the Live-CD of Natty or Oneiric, I boot into a black screen (no backlight). The described workaround in #33 (see posting obove) works fine. But I hope there will be a bugfix soon, because using the control keys after every suspend and hibernate are inconvenient.
