Public bug reported:

Trying to run linux on HP Pavilion g7-1255dx via thumbdrive.

Installed and runs, but frequent delays/hangs, periodic grey screen.

Like some background thread is periodically hanging, then getting
killed.

I tried these images:
  ubuntu-11.10-desktop-amd64.iso
  ubuntu-11.10-desktop-i386.iso

Having same problem with mint as well:
  linuxmint-12-gnome-cd-nocodecs-64bit.iso
  linuxmint-12-gnome-cd-nocodecs-32bit.iso

But "Lucid Puppy" DOES seem to run fine:
  lupu-528.004.iso

I suppose there's some driver issue (???).
How do I even begin debugging this?
How do I get info from TaskManager/ProcessManager
to figure out what's hanging?
