I didn't see anything very informative in you dmesg.log file. Could you please add '/var/log/messages' as an attachment to your bug report? In regards to it being a kernel issue, that is my best guess given that you had a full system freeze. In regards to attaching files you can only do one at a time in Malone - Ubuntu's bug tracker.
