Thanks for your report.

According to your logs there are a lot of corrupted kernel modules (in
DpkgTerminalLog.txt):
WARNING: Can't read module
/lib/modules/2.6.38-13-generic/kernel/sound/pci/echoaudio/snd-mia.ko: Exec
format error
WARNING: Can't read module
/lib/modules/2.6.38-13-generic/kernel/sound/pci/snd-intel8x0.ko: Exec format
error
[...]

There is also a depmod segmentation fault in dmesg and many hardware
errors with your harddrive:

You should run a memory check (at boot time, run Memtest86), a disk
health check (see https://help.ubuntu.com/11.04/ubuntu-help/disk-
check.html), a file-system check (e.g. by running palimpsest, selecting
each of your partitions, and click on "Check Filesystem").
Alternatively, you could also look at this page:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FaultyHardware

You should then reinstall your running kernel with the command:
sudo apt-get install --reinstall linux-image-2.6.38-13-generic

I'm converting this report to a question because it is not a bug. Thanks
and don't hesitate to submit any new bug.
