Freaky - the mount point for the DVD I first ejected is still hanging around, I
guess the desktop crashed before it removed that.
(I removed the mount point by hand, ejected my freshly-burned cd, reinserted
it, and the desktop mounted it fine, so the system did seem to recover somewhat
by itself.)
