Public bug reported:
The desktop correctly goes to suspend, with fans silenced, audio turned
off and screen output stopped. Neither the keyboard nor mouse (USB both
of them) are able to wake the machine. On attempting to resume with a
single short touch of the power button, the fans spin up to full speed
and stay spinning at full speed, the power light comes on as expected,
however the screen remains black and there are no lights on the
keyboard. Moving the mouse or pressing keyboard keys does nothing.
Did the machine break while going to sleep or waking up?
- Waking up (resume)
Is it reproducible?
- Yes on 10 out of every 10 sleeps, it failed to resume
Did it work before?
- Never on this ASUS PZ68 desktop (Intel i5 2500, ATI Radeon 4650 -> dual head
Samsung Syncmaster943s)
- It does perform correctly on my Ubuntu 11.10 laptop (Acer Travelmate 5720)
Do you end up with flashing Caps Lock light or similar?
- No kernel panic indicators whatsoever. No lights on keyboard whatsoever. No
screen output either screen (and no boot screen, no GRUB)
The computer does not reboot until forced by holding down the power
button etc.
