Public bug reported:

1) lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 11.10
Release: 11.10

2) apt-cache policy linux
linux:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 3.0.0.12.14
  Version table:
     3.0.0.12.14 0
        500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main i386

3) What is expected to happen upgrading from a fully updated Xubuntu
Oneiric to Precise is it does so successfully.

4) What happens instead is it upgraded. However, everytime I log in, a
few seconds later it kernel oops'. This same kernel oops also occurred
using a Live CD of Precise. Please see attached screenshot
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/925868/+attachment/2709326/+files/kernelpanic.png
. Please be advised that all the information gathered was from an
Oneiric Live CD environment except for dmesg.log.
