@kede: happened to me too one time, nor with Mint, just Ubuntu with gnome-shell. The message was "gnome-shell respawining too fast".
By the way, you do not need to loose your work. Login in a virtual console (ctrl-alt-F1, then login) and then issue: unity --replace (gnome shell has problems with X server permissions, but unity starts ok). Then you go back to the graphic console, (alt-F7), save your work, and logout from unity and log-in back to your preferred manager. Hope this helps next time ;-) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/889706 Title: Gnome-shell randomly crashes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/889706/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
