** Description changed: In Gutsy Gibbon, when I turn desktop-effects on, white stripes (or thin boxes) appear where there should be the shadows, ie. around any window and gnome-panel. It worked perfectly in Feisty Fawn. My video card is an Intel 945, using the beta "intel" xorg driver. + + Edit: not all windows are affected, only gnome-panel, all the dropdown + menus and tooltips.
