Public bug reported:

Since recent updates gnome-screenshot doesn't present a dialog window where to
save an image. (video)
Make screenshots with alt or alt+print, instead of presenting a dialog images
are deliberately saved in 'pictures' folder.
Not a good idea since 'pictures' folder may incl. images to display on
unity-greeter.

## Unsure if the culprit is gnome-screenshot itself or some other
updates like nautilus, gir or else. Rather wait for triage.
