Also I would like to mention that this bug seems to weigh heavy on pulseaudio and not ALSA. Thus far the only issue with ALSA that has been mentioned is the Alsamixer bug when trying to play with the volume for the PS3 Eye.
If it hasn't been acknowledged already, this bug is a bug with pulseaudio. If pulseaudio is taken out of the equation and we don't have to depend on pulseaudio to use certain apps, this problem is hence non existent.
