it's oneiric with latest updates

tried to debug it by my own. I added some 'exec echo' s into the
idmapd.conf:
pre-start script
exec echo "hihi"
do_modprobe() {
..
if ! mountpoint -q "$PIPEFS_MOUNTPOINT"
then
mount -t rpc_pipefs rpc_pipefs "$PIPEFS_MOUNTPOINT"
fi
exec echo "2"
end script
exec echo "3"
exec rpc.idmapd
...
However i can't see those prints in the syslog, but the idmapper
is now running after a reboot.
I'd like to understand what is happening here. Because the next
step is getting autofs with ldap working after startup that is
also not working 'out of the box' with ubuntu. :(
