Public bug reported:
software-center version 5.1.8
unity version 5.2.0-0ubuntu2
The Precise Pangolin
Please refer to bug 761851 for details on this feature and its
development. With the rollout of unity 5.2 and software-center 5.1.8
just after alpha 2, this feature should, in theory, be landed. However,
I am not seeing any application icon appearing at all in the Launcher
when doing an installation (note that this feature applies only to
launchable applications with desktop files).
To reproduce:
1. Launch the Ubuntu Software Center.
2. Navigate to the Games section. Choose any fun-looking game and install it.
What should happen:
1. The icon for the game should appear in the Unity launcher immediately at the
start of the install, and it should begin to fill its progress bar as the
installation proceeds. At the end of this process, the launcher icon should be
fully functional.
What does happen:
1. No icon appears in the Unity launcher at all.
Note that I have verified that I am sending the dbus signal from USC at
the start of the install.
Thanks!
