Hi Chris, Sorry again. I was looking at your screenshot and saw that the point where the problems with gdb begin, was below the lines shown. So I read your post again, and now I think we both are reaching the same error. The "operation not permitted" you mention on your post, is the same problem we're facing here. A gdb-6.3 or a vanilla 6.4 reach to that point and give you a (gdb) prompt to start debugging, without any errors. But dapper's "gdb-6.4-debian" shows that ugly:
[Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled] [New Thread -1214994208 (LWP 29943)] Can't attach LWP 29943: Operation not permitted (gdb) when it should be ready to debug. Our initial bug report was regarding this very issue, because after the "operation not permitted" message, you are unable to debug the application, and we feel it shouldn't be that way.
