Jerome, Thanks for your prompt response! Fortunately, it looks like the current version of update-manager for Dapper AMD64 does not have this bug.
I had hoped to upgrade to Edgy (and on to Feisty) from a pristine install (the Edgy and Feisty install CDs won't boot on my system), but after submitting the bug report, I did an apt-get update and upgrade. I'm currently in the middle of an update-manager -c upgrade to Edgy. I'll only be able to reproduce the bug if the upgrade goes poorly and I'm forced to reinstall Dapper. On a side note, it looks like update-manager will force me to restart my system after the dist-upgrade. The last time I upgraded to Edgy (shortly after Edgy came out), there was about a 50% chance the system would crash before giving me a login on any given boot. It would be really nice if there were a way to bypass the forced reboot and instead go right into a dist-upgrade to Feisty. -Karl On 5/27/07, Jérôme Guelfucci <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Thank you for your bug report.
