I just did a clean install (Ubuntu Feisty) and now everything seems to works fine. Another possible cause of the above problem could be the system hardening tool Bastille which I installed at the beginning of this week. I didn't alter the rwe rights in Bastille because I think standard Ubuntu is OK?
