I'm trying to get Feisty to access the images on a Canon S3-IS using the usb
connection.
- Upon connection, the "camera import" dialog opens.
- Pressing the "import photos" button will open the "import photoes" dialog. In
this dialog, a "no camera detected" indication appears.
- Pressing the camera button, it is possible to select the "Canon Powershot
S3-IS (PTP mode)" from the catalog.
- At this point, I see in the dialog window message area:
"An error occurred in the io-library ('Bad parameters'): Could not find USB
device (vendor 0x4a9, product 0x311a). Make sure this device is connected to
the computer."
A few (maybe) relevant details:
$ sudo lsusb

Shooting in complete darkness, I was hoping for a "card-reader-like" device - a
new /dev/sdx device which I can manually mount and copy the images from.
I didn't find such a device, but I did notice the following new entries under
/dev which were added upon connection.
I'm not sure if its helpful, but here are the new entries anyway:
