Public bug reported: Using QSystemTray of Qt under Unity does not work. Created trays are not displayed properly in the panel.
Please fix this. It is annoying because many Qt programs in the repositories do use the tray. There is also a Qt bugreport containing this issue: https://bugreports.qt- project.org/browse/QTBUG-24085?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels :all-tabpanel#issue-tabs But it's obvious that it is a problem of Ubuntu, not the Qt Framework.
