I have a problem with 2.6.20-16 too, even if not so serious as the posts
above. My mouse wheel is not working anymore after rebooting.
This is xorg.conf input section:

Identifier "Configured Mouse"
Driver "mouse"

Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"

It was working with previous kernel.
