I confirm the bug on the very same hardware. However I think this bug should be triaged against the latest kernel, since :
1/ it's actually crashing in the kernel while trying to write an EFI var (to setup the GRUB boot entry I think); I only traced it to grub- install calling 'efibootmgr -c ...'. I can reproduce this bug by simply calling 'efibootmgr -c' from the console (immediatly crashes). Reading EFI var seems to be okay, I could poke around with efibootmgr. 2/ I also tried with the daily Precise build to no avail, same bug. The link in the topmost comment has a full kernel trace, that should help. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/906045 Title: installer crashed grub-efi To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/906045/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
