I read the other two reports. I then really played with the feature, keeping in mind the reason for the behavior. I still believe that it gets in the way of the function of the dash. To use any other feature on any particular lens you have to clear the search bar for that lens first. There has to be a better way to satisfy the purpose for the design of search and the rest of the dash. Perhaps a dropdown with a recent history of searches? Or maybe a dedicated "search results" lens that kept a history of searches? Just throwing ideas out there, the way it functions now does seem to get in the way an awful lot.
