thanks for the suggestion, i'll give it a try. i suspect the culprit is one of the mono dependencies of keepass. reason is, keepass does not use the native window manager, it's interface looks very windows-like (as in ms windows).
i can usually "fix" the issue by purging keepass2. just removing keepass2 does not seem to fix the problem.
