I just learned from that discussion on x264, that only that ffmpeg
maintained by ffmpeg.org is named "ffmpeg" , while that maintained by
libav is (re-?)named avconv.


I'd really recommend to follow this naming scheme in debian/ubuntu packages to 
avoid ambiguities and further confusion, especially for the upcoming LTS 
version. 


I'd propose to have an avconv package for libav based things and maybe another 
ffmpeg package for that based on ffmpeg.org.
