Public bug reported: Please sync ruby-magic 0.2.6-1 (universe) from Debian testing (main)
Explanation of FeatureFreeze exception: samizdat is not installable because mahoro has been dropped from Ubuntu since Oneiric. New upstream version replaced mahoro with magic and samizdat replaced dependency on libmahoro-ruby1.8 with a dependency on ruby-magic. ruby-magic is then required as well as a 5 lines patch in samizdat so that samizdat can be installable again. ruby-magic builds and installs fine in a Precise chroot: (Precise)fabrice@fabrice-desktop:/tmp$ sudo dpkg -i ruby-magic_0.2.6-1_all.deb (Reading database ... 48957 files and directories currently installed.) Preparing to replace ruby-magic 0.2.6-1 (using ruby-magic_0.2.6-1_all.deb) ... Unpacking replacement ruby-magic ... Setting up ruby-magic (0.2.6-1) ... (Precise)fabrice@fabrice-desktop:/tmp$ Thanks, Fabrice All changelog entries: ruby-magic (0.2.6-1) unstable; urgency=low * Initial release (Closes: #629136) * Unit test patched not to use rubygems and to require test_declarative. -- Dmitry Borodaenko <[email protected]> Sat, 17 Sep 2011 15:36:57 +0300 ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Wishlist Status: New ** Changed in: ubuntu Importance: Undecided => Wishlist -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/940849 Title: FFe: Sync ruby-magic 0.2.6-1 (universe) from Debian testing (main) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/940849/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
