Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better.
In version 4.7.3 of KMail, go the the Composer settings and remove the check in
front of 'Word wrap at column'. This will disable word-wrapping, at least for
me it does. Therefore, I will close this report
